Heavy Metal
Buddy of mine just bought one of these for his son. I was REALLY impressed with it. Has a clip that holds two shells. Rifled and magnaported barrel. Suppose to be excellent with sabots at 100yards/1" high. We'll see if it's as good as advertised but man, it's the first slug gun I've ever given a thought to own. And there cheap too. New they are like $300. They got theirs used for well under that with the scope. Anybody have one or owned one in the past? Is it a newer model? MNcrittergittr
There were a number of 695's produced between 1995 and 1996 that were recalled. Apparently it was because some of them discharged when closing the bolt, loading a shell. That's scary to think about! I really like Mossberg shotguns. Seems like people either love em or don't. I have a couple Mossberg shotguns that have been and are great shotguns! I love them! It's been a long time since I've deer hunted with a gun. I strictly bowhunt deer now, but that is a sweet lookin slug gun. That would be great for where I hunt. The recall would make me nervous, but if you are interested in one, just make sure you get one produced outside the recall. Mossberg makes rifles now too. MichiganHunter
I HAVE this gun, IT IS THE BEST SLUG GUN EVER. It WILL out shoot any other slug gun on the market. I have taken deer with copper solids at 180 yards. He got the best possible gun there. He is going to love it, and if he dont than you need to buy it from him. I got mine from a guy who bought it new for his kid and the the kid didn't like it, so it ended up with me cheap. And you are right with sighting that in at 1in high at 100. that puts me ON out to 160 yards and with a bit of practice i know where to hold for shots out to longer distances. I dont know what kind of slugs your using but I have had great luck with remington copper solids.

They where $15 dollars for FIVE!!! But they look bad to the bone! The box of shells guarantee accuracy at 100 yards....I'm assuming that is a lock in with this rifle/ammo combo after seeing your experience. TOO COOL!
