Eric25
Hey guys first time as a poster here..Me and my father went to hang some tree stands the other day on our property, as we were walkin down one of our main hot trails, we noticed a new trail camera that had been put up. We both knew WE didnt put it up. So I took it off the tree and took out the sim card and put it in my camera to view what was on it..sure enough it had pics of the guy that put it up very clearly I might add, pics of him puttin down what looked like Acorn Rage and various other pics. We took the camera and left it on the fence post and kept the sim card and left him a note statin that if we ever caught him on our property or that anything was vandalized or missing we would call the authorities and press charges. Did we do the right thing..or should we have kept the camera to??
layin on the smackdown
In my opinion, you did the right thing. If your land is clearly posted and the tresspasser knew they were tresspassing, the only thing different i would have done was kept that camera for two reasons...principle and evidence. Welcome to the forums! Dan
woolybear
You should have sent the cam to me to hold as evidence. Nah, the way you handled this is very noble. Not really sure how I'd have acted in your situation but I'd say you did good.

There's actually another thread on here where someone found a stand on his property. you might wanna look at that thread and see if some of the suggestions help you. here's the link: http://www.realtree.com/forums/showthread.php?t=91176
buckee
Welcome to the forums. Sounds like the right thing to do. Heck, you're fortunate you got picks of the guys too. You could download the pics off the SIM card and put it back in the camera too, if you felt really generous

arrow32
Sounds like the right thing to me to do. I'd a taken the cam as well I think. Welcome to the forums.
camoman1
I think you did nothing wrong. I would have taken the camera, and left him a note where the camera was letting him know where he could come pick it up and discuss property boundaries....
