Tink
Kerrville Times reports 27 year old ranch hand was killed Thursday evening at the Y O Ranch in Mountain Home, near Kerrville, Kerr CO Texas by a Barasingha (sp) Buck Deer while unloading the Big buck from a travel trailer. The buck, perhaps six pointer estimated to be about 600# gored the ranch employee in the neck and the leg with his long heavy antlers. The ranch had wore a EMT Bracelet that said not to use a deliberator on him, as he might be wearing a pacemaker device on his heart..... Some reports said he died on the ranch and was DOA at a local hospital. The Famous YOU Ranch is the largest exotic game ranch in Texas, and was a Pioneer of introducing exotic game from all over the world into Texas. DEER hunters are reminded that all DEER and bucks are the worst, at attacking humans during the fall when they rut or breed. Never trust any wild animal Even a deer. Deer kill people every fall. A 125# spike buck can kill a 250# adult man. The identity of the dead man was not released. sluggunner
Sad story indeed. He was so young too, what a tragedy. I'm confused by your two posts though, was it a buck deer that killed him or a bull elk or a bull like a steer?
m gardner
God bless him. The man definitely had some sand! The barasingha is a large deer with elk style antlers. They are an import from India I believe. Mark

Stinger-Hunter
Sounds like (after reading the posts TWICE) that this guy is a hero.
AceArcher
That is really a shame...he sounds like a hero for saving the other guy. A 600 lb deer is no joke...if it got him in the thigh might have gotten a big artery. I was walking out of the woods Saturday night and couldn't help but think that if the big buck I am after up here in IL was smart he would just run up and gore me in the dark...I wouldn't have chance. Also... I don't think TINK needs to worry about spelling. He knows how to spell Tink's 69 and that is makes him a genius to me. That stuff has been around since I was a kid and I imagine he is not to concerned if he has a spelling error or two.
Tink
SorryI Could not get into 6th Grade after the nuns at a Catholic school expelled me in 5th grade. I tried. only after I enlisted in the US Army at 17 did I graduate from a U S military high School in Paris France. Funny I was a mediocre student in High School ( I had discovered girls and they discovered me) but in College I made Straight "A"s and Dean List, etc. I guess I was bored in high School and too wrapped up in archery hunting and girls. Sorry if my ramblings tax your reading and comprehension skills..its good practice for whitetail logic in the field. Please put me on ignore so that I don't spoil your fun. . I was the Publisher of the Deer Hunters News Newspaper for 10.5 year till I sold it and also I Co- Founded Bowhunter magazine and wrote the ASK TINK column for 9 or 10 years till I got too busy with making Tinks # 69 and $$$.. Enjoy the pix Adios:bat:
AceArcher
Tink your awsome. You must have made a bundle off deer pee...that in my book makes you a genius ten time over. I am still trying to figure out a big idea to make myself some big money. Did you use that little wiener dog for tracking deer way back when? They make real good trackers of wounded animals and was wondering if you used them for that. Take care.
Tink
Yes Mr Ace In Germany they use dachshunds for chasing and tracking Wild Boar and the little dogs are fearless. They will latch onto Boar's tail and rump and make the boar turn in circles till the hunters comes to kill the boar. That was a groundhog I Bow killed in Aug 1959 before going on active duty with the US Army Corps of Engineers. :robot:
