Re: Coyote Question

varmet al really helps out! I woudl say any time of the day but am and pm are prob the best unless really cold, right now they are mating so may be a bit harder to call, don't get discouraged,I have luck with a howler this time of year , I have also called in lots in years past with just the distress call but better luck with howler durign mating! I find I have the best luck with open reed callers, just can get a better variety of sounds, just watch the wind at all tiems, and lok for them to circle and try to find a location to set up were you ahve a goot view of sight and you can get to very quiet, any noise will hurt the chances of coming in, if calling in thick area start out quiet incase one is close and go louder as time goes on and after 20 minutes of so start to lighten up a bit again! soemtimes they will run you over and the next tiem they will sneek in like a cat, be ready at all times for the unexpected!most important thing if you do not get one or see one of if they howl back and do not respond, it may not be your methods and prob is not, soemdays you just can not get them in no matter what, some days you are just a hundred yards away from them hearing, next day they will be runnign you over,no idea why this is but do not get discouraged!good luck, keep us posted!
