WvBowhunterKE
Im not sure, but I dont think the mesh will provide enough force to open the mechanical blades on it. Sorry I cant help, perhaps some of the other Rage hunters can help you out on it. From my opinion I dont think it would.
WvBowhunterKE
Actually, No im sure they wouldnt. Over my leave in Sept. The Hunting and Fishing day at Stonewall Jackson was in. A group of guys form Cabelas were up there handing out some broadhead dvds. On the new Grim Reaper DVD they do a sort of myth busting scenario. The made a balistic gelatine that was to Military standard, placed a deer hide over it and shot into it. It was Rage vs Grim Reaper. Both passed into the gelatine about 2 inches before the blades flew open. Gelatine is a bit thicker than mesh lol. Best of luck.
jdavis
I wouldn't try to shoot thru the mesh; I know they say it doesn't affect accuracy but I just don't see how shooting thru the mesh isn't going to affect your arrow flight. If a twig will throw your arrow off then I would think the same would apply to this.
countryboy89
thats what am thinkin to it has to throw it off and with the rages they wouldnt work
VermontHunter
Most mechanical broadheads manufactures will say that their BH's shouldn't be shot through mesh ... at anytime ... But I found this on the RAGE website .. Blind Exit When shot through the fine mesh of a high quality blind, neither the Rage 2 blade or Rage 3 blade will deploy prematurely. This high speed footage shows both Rage heads being shot though the mesh of a Double Bull Matrix blind without blade activation. This is particularly good news for the bow-wielding turkey hunter who needs the concealment of a blind to get drawn. It's also great for the new breed of bowhunters who like to hunt eye level for deer and other big game. http://www.ragebroadheads.com/Compare.aspx Hope this helps with your question .. I do not believe that. It does not take much to deploy a Rage. I would not do it....
VermontHunter
I do not believe that. It does not take much to deploy a Rage. I would not do it.... I'm with you 100% Jim ,, I use the Rage Head and they seem to open just by being bumped in the quiver .... I've found that most Mechanical Broadhead manufactures recommend against shooting through any mesh .. I just used what info the website offered .. RangerClay
If you want to shoot an expandable through mesh, try the Epek XC-3. They say you can.

layin on the smackdown
I agree with you on your decision...I don't have a problem with accuracy shooting my fixed blade G5 Montecs, but they are a fixed blade.....I would definitely not try and shoot a mechanical, or at least a Rage, through the mesh. I don't see any good coming from it at all.
