JDAWG
Last night, I went to scout some public land near my in-laws and had a great expierence. After walking around the area for a couple of hours, I picked an area where I thought some deer would come out into a field. I decided to sit on top of a hill looking over this field, to my right about 1/2 mile away is another green field. I glass this green field and watch a turkey walk though the field and then "pow" a hunter shoots this while I'm watching this. It was kind of watching a hunting show live. But this wasn't the most exciting part, about 6:15pm, 2 bucks came out of the woods behind me and walked within 30 yrds of where I'm sitting on the ground. One 6pt and one 3 pt, the three pt had broken off his right side. I got to watch these deer scent check does in the field until dark. I thought it was a great expierence to be out in the open with deer within bow range on the ground and to not get dectected. Sorry about the long post... Turkeygirl
Cool! That's what I love about being in the woods, never knowing what you might see...and there is always something to see. Like when bowhunting at the neighbor's cabin...there are these small blue berries on these trees over me and Robins fly in and I have to sit in my stand with blue berries and blue bird turds falling on me...lol
hammerforged
It doesn't get any better than that. Often the best times I have had in the field or stream are when I don't harvest anything at all but really enjoy Mother Nature in all her glory.
