bfletch7441
Anyone have one? Had a perc test done yesterday on our place, but it didn't pass. May dig some more holes and try again. Ben
Texan_Til_I_Die
Have a good friend that's in the septic install/pumping business and his take on them is that they are generally better, but more costly to install and when they need maintenance (which they will eventually) that's more expensive too. Hoosierbuck
I have one of those-internally. Whenever I work out hard or go for a long run (Aerobic) it makes me have to utilize a septic system. HB
Mach1
I work for a county health department in environmental health and inspect the installation of septic systems. In our county over 80% of the systems installed are aerobic systems due to the high clay content of our soils which do not allow appropriate perculation of the effluent. Here in IL, a septic dealer is required to give you a 2-year service agreement after installation that covers maintenance and parts I believe. After that they must offer the same agreement. From what I've experienced, we hear of less problems with aerobic systems than conventional systems. And many homes that have failing conventional systems are switching to aerobic systems. bfletch7441
I'm surprised people are switching to them. I know lots of folks that have had conventional systems for lots of years without problems. Thanks for the input guys. Ben
