Aerobic Septic Systems

I work for a county health department in environmental health and inspect the installation of septic systems. In our county over 80% of the systems installed are aerobic systems due to the high clay content of our soils which do not allow appropriate perculation of the effluent. Here in IL, a septic dealer is required to give you a 2-year service agreement after installation that covers maintenance and parts I believe. After that they must offer the same agreement.

From what I've experienced, we hear of less problems with aerobic systems than conventional systems. And many homes that have failing conventional systems are switching to aerobic systems.
