buckbuster11
By trading Braylon Edwards to the Jets. I guess that's what you get for messing with Lebron James 130 lbs friends.:laser:

Master_Chief
Hmm. Hire Mangini, take all the scrubs from the jets. Deal our best receiver to the Jets. I am almost done with the Browns.
muggs
It's addition by subtraction. Not like his 10 catches were doing anything for them. Not to mention, this is the last year on his deal and he wasn't resigning here. So instead of having to watch him not produce all year and then lose him, they just got two players and two picks for him. Pretty smart. Although, he could have been the key piece to their obvious Super Bowl run this season, is that what you're saying John? They're going nowhere...rebuild. I was at the game Sunday. He dropped the first ball thrown to him (it hit in the stomach), and he wasn't running out his routes. Not to mention, he was a constant distraction, he's had problems with every coach he's every had, and most of the fines Mangini has levied were on him. This move got me back on Mangini's bandwagon. He's trimming the egos and bringing in character guys. People can continue to tell me how talented he is, but a receivers job is to catch the ball, he led the league in drops last year. How is that talent? People like to say he's only adding scrub Jets. You have to realize, this is a stop gap. He's bringing in guys who know his system on the cheap. When he got here, they had 4 draft picks in the 2010 draft...now they have 11 (and it's a deep draft). This past off season, they didn't have to lock into another huge rookie deal and they didn't have to overpay for free agents. They're going about this the right way. Trust me. The roster he put together in New York is off to a pretty good start too cheech.:hammer1: Edited October 8, 2009 by muggs

He was gone after 8 more games anyway and the dude didn't even register a catch on Sunday.

He wasn't resigning, why not get something for him. At this point who is to say the Stucky isn't as good. At least he can hold onto the ball. And say what you will about getting a LB that plays special teams, but they can make all the difference. When the Packers got rid of Tracy White last year, there kickoff coverage went down hill at the speed of light. There are some guys who just can get to the ball on special teams. You know I know sports, ma man. I actually think Stuckey is a pretty solid wideout. I believe he has 11 grabs and a score already (which is one more catch and one more TD than Braylon had). The special teamer they got is one of the better special team players (was special teams player of the week once already this year)- but really the deal was about the picks mostly. And like you said, something is better than nothing and two good character guys and two picks go a long way to buildingt something positive here. Again, it's about buidling. Edwards negativity only tore down. You don't win with guys like that. People were riding McDaniels hard. He's looking pretty smart now. Mangini basically built that Jets roster that's looking like a playoff team (he also took a team to the playoffs as a first year head coach). There's a method to the madness with these Bellicheat clones. The system is proven, it just takes time. Certainly more than 4 weeks. Like I said, the guy has stones. I'm back on board.
