so much truth to that!

fine with me. I still ask permission to hunt not pay.

im not sure if many people know this but michael waddell killed the biggest buck of his life in indiana last season. Thats saying a lot considering the places he has been. I will shut up now because i dont want the press. I like being a sleeper state.

First deer taken - 8 pointer in Virginia, had to get a different cape for it, cause the butcher and then taxidermist did a number on him

That says it all about your state... Micheal Waddell is the man! As he would call it, " I got me a Idiana McFreakNasty " lol

Great Photo's

mathews4life84, nice pictures. You really know how to capture the moment after taking a nice buck. I'm tired of seeing pickup truck pictures. You did a great job of sky-lining the rack, hiding the blood and taking pictures before dressing the deer. Sometimes it's so easy to forget about doing this and then later your often disappointed at the quality of the photo's.

Thanks Brian. My dad and I take a lot of pride in our deer that we take. So what better way to show them off than with great pictures. We have had lots of comments of our photos over the years. I agree with you, I cant stand seeing those pickup truck pics with all the blood and tongues hanging out. It doesnt take that long to do it right.

STOP THE NONSENSE! THERE ARE NO BIG BUCKS IN INDIANA! It's all smoke and mirrors! It's all photoshop! Waddell drove though here once to get to Ohio, but he doesn't REALLY hunt here. (I'll buy him lunch if he backs me up on that one.) Our genetics suck. There's nothing for the deer to eat here. They are all cross-eyed and bow legged with spindly little racks. They stand 24" at the shoulder like the Florida deer. They dress out at 65#, for the big ones...etc., etc., etc.

Finally seeing some movement!!

I went out last evening in the light rain and brisk wind. I was up there in the tree thinking to myself " when am i going to start seeing those bucks i had pics of all summer". Finally got some movement in the beans around 5:30. Then just before dark the bucks started showing themselves. I ended up seeing 3 bucks and 8 does. None of the bucks were shooters, but still good to finally start seeing some boneheads materialize. I am looking forward to this weekend!! Good luck fellas.

Pretty dang good weekend of bowhunting!!I woke up saturday morning to a good hard frost and 30 degrees. What more could a bowhunter ask for. Well as i started my pusuit to my stand in the dead silence, i blew out so many deer that were feeding in the beans. By the time i got to my stand i was quite frustrated. Finally cracks light as i stare out in to the standing corn. Big buck!! All i see is a big rack. Give a few soft grunts and here he comes. After looking him over real good i elected to pass as he made a scrape at 14 yards! He was a very nice mid 130's 10 point. Sunday morning same thing but no big bucks. I had a big ol' camel head come in to 22 yards and that was the end of her. One of the best blood trails yet. And to find out my dad had a few trail cam pics of a few good bucks, things are looking up for us!!
