Hey guy. I am wanting to try some goose hunting. We have decoys, calls and camo burlap. I was just wondering if any of you had any good tips to point me in the right direction. If their is any products that you think would be helpful please let me know. Any tips you have would be a great help. If I have any success using your tips I will let you know.

Thanks.

Heres a few things I can think of off the top of my head

-Be where the geese want to be if you can, its much easier to decoy them if you are set up where they have already been feed/loafing in previous days.....do some scouting, and dont overhunt the same field if you can.

-If you can afford the new full bodied decoys that are out, they look great. But a spread of them will cost a good chunk of change. Ive had good luck mixing a few good full bodies, some shells and some sillhuoettes. Ive found that too many sillouettes can spook birds sometimes.

-Leave an opening in the decoys for the geese to land in.

-Geese like to land into the wind..keep that in mind when setting up.

-Calling helps alot....but you can over do it pretty easy. You dont need 4 guys hammering on calls if there are only a few geese working the spread.

-Depending on hunting pressure....less can be more. Less decoys and less calling can work wonders on birds that have been dodging steel for a few months.

Hope this helps. Im sure some of the other guys have some more tips too...

Good luck!!

Oh yeah one last thing---make sure you are well hidden.
