Rage Broadheads

I will never shoot a different broadhead, see my buck pic from this year to see the hole it left..every compound bow hunter should use these for a few different reasons.

1. they leave HUGE holes, faster easier tracking

2. even on an iffy shot, they do soo much damage you still will recover your deer

3. they penetrate like a fixed head, i got a full pass through on a shoulder hit

Shot a deer with the 2 blade that was quartering away from me it litteraly did what the commercial says "opens game like a zipper" The enterance hole was so big I could stick my fist in it. Sorry I don't have the picture anymore but I absolutely love these broadheads they do some Major Damage to say the least!

I actually switched from G5 125gr Strykers to the Rage 2 blade broadhead. This past weekend I had the chance to take a doe at 30yrds. I thought I made a good shot but on impact, it sounded like a baseball bat hitting a tree (making me think I smacked the shoulder). I went down to check for blood and couldn't find any or my arrow. I know that it's probably do to poor shot placement, but what I did notice about the broadhead even in practice, is that they whistle awfully loud. I think because of this the deer turned more then anticipated and I smacked the shoulder.

No don't get me wrong these heads fly amazing, and I havn't had many chances in the woods to officially test out the different types of heads. From what I've seen so far, I don't feel that these have the ability to penetrate bone that some might. What sucks is...I don't know, and that's never a good thing when your hunting. I'm going to stick with these for the next couple weeks, hopefully have better luck, but if the incident happens again, I'll probably be switching to either the Muzzy 3-blade (original) or the G5 Strykers. (Just a side note, the reason I switch the first time is because I went from 125gr to 100gr, and with all the hype about the Rage and watching the TV shows I figured it was a good choice)

If anyone has some more informed information about those 3 types of heads, please let me know. I don't want to keep wounding deer and feeding the bears and coyotes.

Carbon Express Terminator Lite Hunter 6075 (can't remember length) 4" duravane

I've had good and bad luck with them. Shot a 4 pt at 15 yards quartering away. Ended up shooting about 2 inches too far back. Did not get a pass through had about 8 inches of the arrow sticking out. Found the deer and the exit hole had guts pulled out through it and the deer never really bled because of that.

Second deer was a nice 8 pt shot him near perfect and it went all the way through and he bled great.

In my opinion penetration is somewhat lacking compared to the muzzys but if you hit them right the results are amazing. I also love that they shoot just like my field points. Time will tell with me. I'm still not completely sold on them.

I have not personally got to shoot them but over my leave my fiance's cousin dusted a big doe durning the early archery season in september. He caught the back corner of the shoulder and the broadhead shown no damage what so ever. I am a huge fan of the Montec g5's but after seeing the aftermath of the Rage broadhead I am nearly sold. I just cant wait to get back home next year and try them out for myself.

I've heard 90% good about the Rage 2 blade. I shot a doe in late season last year at under 20 yards....and never found her. The shot looked good although it was at a high angle. I didn't have a pass through so I lost the blood trail after 100 yards. After all I'd read about this head, I fully expected her to drop in the first 50. I'll give the head another chance based on all the pictures I've seen, and hope for better luck next time.

I have shot and taken deer with both the 2 and 3 blade version. I love these heads i think they are the new mechanical i dont see any reason to ever use the old style even though i swore by rocket for years but have evolved along with the technology. As with any broadhead on the market there are going to be stories of deer that are shot and not recovered. When people tell you they shot a deer perfect and had no penetration and lost the deer they are lying. That doesnt happen on deer sized game unless you are using a Very low poundage bow. More often the shot was not where they thought. Bottom line great heads huge entrance and exits. The buck i shot this year the arrow was sticking about 5 inches into the dirt on the back side id say thats enough penetration!

I've got clean pass throughs with the 2 blade rage heads. 1 was a HARD quartering away shot on a doe...I see no reason to ever switch to another head.

Personally, if you hit the deer where your supposed to...it really doesn't matter what head you have on your arrow! A sharp blade behind the shoulder will kill a deer every time.
