Stone Cold
Here is the article on prairiestateoutdoors.com Monster Illinois 28-point bow kill October 08, 2009 at 08:47 AM BY JEFF LAMPE Carol Kidd says Nate Webster is “a great person” and “a very good hunter.” Since last Friday Webster has had a great deer to go with his other standout qualities. Hunting on the ground on the second day of the 2009-10 Illinois archery deer season, Webster shot a big 28-point Moultrie County buck that could well rank among the best bowkills in the country this year. “He brought it in to our shop and in 19 years of (helping run Kidd’s Archery) I’ve never seen a big one that was as gnarly as that. It’s a beautiful deer,” said Kidd, one of the family members who runs Kidd’s Archery in Shelbyville. Webster is a regular at the shop. “People were absolutely in awe. And the phone calls kept going from person to person. It was just crazy.” “This couldn’t have happened to a nice person,” Kidd said. “He hunts a lot. But he works too, so he can only hunt so much.” Webster said the buck has not yet been green scored. Based only a cursory review of the photograph, veteran measurer Tim Walmsley said the buck could easily score 230 inches or larger. The deer appears to be a basic 10- or 11-pointer with 40-50 inches of abnormal points. We’ll have more updates as reliable information becomes available. Here are some more pictures of the buck. redkneck
UNREAL! Would be hard to maintain composure with a bow and a bruiser like that in front of you. That's why I'm just smackin nannies this year, lol. Going to be 2-3 more weeks before the grass is up at the camp, but I'm going to do my best to take one at my mother-in-laws place this weekend. Got a little basket 8 on the cam that better not show up over there

The bad part of the whole deal is that I was just told today by my doctor that I have to have major surgery on November 3rd so I will be done hunting then. THAT SUCKS! Right in the beginning of rut! What do you do though. I am just getting by now.
AceArcher
Wow ...what a monster. The Moutrie Monster!! Stone Cold...I would tell the Doc that the surgery has to wait until Dec 3rd. That way you can get in gun season and some thanksgiving bowhunts. Good luck and thanks for posting the pics.
