woolybear
And much more. Lets just say your stuck in the woods and your hands are frozen to the bone. No matches, no lighter, no fire. Gotta flashlight??? Take it apart and take the batteries out. Remove the brass element that runs from the switch to the bulb. Touch it to the positive and negative ends of the battery and that sucker will heat up in 30 seconds flat or less. Don't know what happens if you leave it hooked up too long but hey, somedays you need to sacrifice some things you take to the field for your own safety, the reason you took them in the first place. Anyhow, with my remaining parts I got a pretty sweet stun gun in the makings:) Just gonna need some fresh batteries:clown: Everything in the pic is safe to touch without shock. jesse8953
I'm thinking the battery would explode if left like that too long, but I don't know for sure.
woolybear
I'm thinking the battery would explode if left like that too long, but I don't know for sure. You're probably right. But like I said, if you need it in a pinch, there it is and you can disconnect one terminal when it gets too hot and it still holds heat for quite some time. That's why I left the tape loose on the right end. You guys would laugh your butts off if you seen what I did with these old lights today.:clown: Shocking to say the least:crutch: Edited October 9, 2009 by woolybear

wtnhunt
I'm thinking the battery would explode if left like that too long, but I don't know for sure. Yep, maybe so. Reminds me of a morning I was checking cams and got a really warm feeling on my leg. The 9 volt energizer in my pocket shorted against the keys to the cable locks, fried the battery, that sucker got pretty hot.

Just be happy you didn't have a piece of steel wool in your pocket with that 9v.:hammer1: Don't try that at home.
stevebeilgard
Just be happy you didn't have a piece of steel wool in your pocket with that 9v.:hammer1: Don't try that at home. actually, with steel wool and some kindling, you'll have a fire in no time. then you go from a hand warmer to a whole body warmer. woolybear
Another use: Pull your batts. Crack the glass on your bulb and wind the two fillaments inside together. Replace batts, touch to tinder and push the trigger. Instant fire starter. It burns the batts out in under 10 uses. Keep your tinder handy and if you have an accelerant all the better. I'll refrain from posting my stun gun schematics here so it doesn't fall into the wrong hands. I will say this, you can reverse ac/dc current with many charger items you have laying around the house. Still looking for more uuumph out of my shocker. Got an idea though.
