Missed160
We live in Minnesota and are interested in going somewhere next year to hunt pigs. What states would be good places to start looking? Do we need a guide? Any info would be greatly appreciated.. Thanka

texastrophies
It would be a long haul, but Texas has numerous ranches where you can hunt hogs. They have all types of scenarios, by the day, by the pound, by the quantity, etc. But I am sure with just a little research, you should be able to find a few places a little closer to you and probably have just about as good success. If you are interested in Texas, though, let me know and I will try to get a few locations for you to start looking at.

45-70cannon
I always do a preserve hunt for boar, in NEw York but I am also on the CAMO webpage and after reporting my success in New York a couple of weeks ago, I got an invite to hunt them in Ohio. It seems they have quite a few down there, running wild. Sounds like a future plan to me. We do have them here in Mass, but not in any great numbers, not yet anyway. They are making the Massachusetts woods home, but not so you'd notice. We actually had one killed on the highway last summer, and the town fellow that was called to remove the animal found it still alive, to which he promptly dispathed it and brought it home and butchered it! Fitting ending to a highly praised, and great eating beast. Wouldn't ya say??

hopelesshunter
If you want to go to texas, you can always hunt the public land. Being that we can't hunt public land year round, the hog population is rediculous. It's very rare that I go and don't see hogs.
