sureshot
been quite a up and down this past couple weeks, I have been bow hunting a couple monsters abig wide typ and nice 200 class non typ, oct 1 comes and Muzzle loader season so I work on trying to get my daughter her first mule deer with the old musket, we hunt a couple days with no luck, then one night we spot the non typ after a nice stock we are 86 yards above him but she could not see him on the shooting sticks becouse of grass in the way so we try to close the gap to the top of the hill and he spooks, If she was a bit older we could of did a prone shot but being only 12 then I did not want to spook her of the gun boom to much, next night he is in same area and a perfect stalk and we are within 180 yards, we are pinned down and he feeds the oppposite way, that was wed and the last night I seen him, yesterday morn we are with a buddy and see a herd of deer way across a vally so we drive over on the road and walk in , over 40 deer came out of a draw and 3 nice bucks, no shot oppertunity, we went home for luck and was back ar 3 pm glassing from across the draw a mile away, I spot deer hadign toa grren oat field , we drive across and start the hike in, with 30 mph winds and bloody cold it was a tough situation for her, I then spot one ahead of us, after a crawl of 100 yards in low spots I see 2 bucks ahead, 112 yards, I set her up and tell her once tey turn take the back one, then the shooting sticks move and hit the fence, twang, they look at us and we get her set up but if she shoots now she will hit thebarb wire, I try to put the shooting sticks together and they slip again twang on the fence, the bucks had enough and took off, I was starting to get a tad bit upset, but all i could say is lets go, we followed the hills around and then spot them again,250 yards, I loo at my daughter ahd she is squirming, I guess all the exitement has made her have to goto the bathroom, I sat down held my head and said go in the draw and go, took her about 10 minutes to get al dressed up again but the time sent the deer deeper in the draw, we go on top and crawled to a bale, ten to anohter, I glass the hill and 165 to the top, I helped her get set up and the 2 bucks sarted up the hill,I ranged 143 to the bottowm one, I said put the crosshairs just above center on the shoulder , all I heard was boom, seen the buck buckle and front shoulder busted as he wobbled over the hill!!! we waked the 2 miles back to the truck and check the time, the stock took us just about 3 hours, wow time flies, I looked for blood nothing, so many tracks I had no idea which was his, we look for about a 1/2 hour and keep widning out, then I spot him tangled in a fence, I hollered at daughter to come see her deer, I can tell you right now I was way more exited than her lol!!!! I did not score him but he will push the 180 gross, he has super long beams, 3 stickers up top, super v's, only downfall is his width is not great, his palmated uppers are so nice!!!going to be hard to beet thsi guy lol!! :'>
