RangerClay
I know some of you are pro-staffers here and elsewhere. Some of you are like me and wish to be pro-staffers. But sometimes these outdoor companies put stuff on the market that just baffle me and they expect people to buy it. Try this, "Ok, insert your name here, we have this new call that we would like you to try. It's called "The Cruncher Call" and it mimics the sound of deer eating acorns. He then holds out the call, Then he asks. "What do you think?" You respond,.........

Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
I'd tell them I'll give it a try a few times when I am hunting in an area with acorns. You never know if things like this are going to work or not. Everyone likes to laugh, but have you tried it? How do you know it won't work? Wonder what the reactions were when the first grunt call came out, or when the can calls first showed up?

Wonder what the reactions were when the first grunt call came out, or when the can calls first showed up? I like to laugh, and would laugh at the guy. If a deer is close enough to hear another deer eating, it is close enough to catch lead or carbon. If I said, play music in the woods because it brings deer in, you would laugh at me. But have you tried it before to see if it works?

92xj
:clown: At least you could hear a deer fart over some distant. Check out this video, they are eating acrons and farting yet you can only hear them fart and not eat. At 11 yards, I am not going to try and make any more noise to get a deer to come closer, like the sound of one eating.

But have you tried it before to see if it works? Yes, I would laugh. Why? because these are two different types of noises. One is something natural they hear all the time, the other is something they are not used to.:hammer1: I'm done, I've said my part in the original question... hungry hunter
My 0.02 is What determines a professional hunter, they will get someone to endorse the thing and when that happens the price goes way up because of the TV shows. Then everyone will have to have one because this or that person uses it. I love the woods and am glad I can go when I want to. Alot of items made overseas for less then 10Cents in materials and then marked way to cover the cost of the PROFESSIONALS endorseing them. The cost of hunting equiptment is getting out of control. Sorry in advance if I have offended anybody.
92xj
So, how far away are the deer suppose to hear this eating noise?

redkneck
Looks pretty lame to me. About like the "feeder repeater" many of you may have seen. If I got acorns to hunt, and deer around, and I got to use that gadget, I got some problems I think. Remember 20 years ago when you went to the sporting goods shop and there was some generic camo, bullets, and turkey calls. I know, I like my trail cam too, but those really were the good ole days in hunting.
stevebeilgard
my grandfather was at kitty hawk with the wright brothers, and an aircraft inventer with many patents to his name. he was laughed at. yet, he invented flaps and leading edge slats that are in use today on the planes you fly in. i'm going to ask how the nut cruncher works, why it might work, and a lot more. i'm going to use some of my time testing it, then i'll make a comment, be it positive or negative. did you know that the top 100 inventions from 1900 to 1999 that made our lives better, things like: the airplane. the telephone, the television. cameras. washin machines. computers. all 100 were invented in AMERICA by americans with a better idea. i don't laugh, i look. listen. and then make an informed decision. but i'll admit it sure looks silly and i do have some initial doubts. maybe some of the same doubts my grandpa had at kitty hawk. it's FREE, joe. take it. use it, and it just might work. dbHunterNY
I would try it out if the situation seemed logical to use it. However, I think that given it's purpose it's use is limited. I can only bring so many gadgets into the woods so one that has multiple functions or works in various situations would be more ideal for me. Dakota
If a deer is close enough to hear another deer eating, it is close enough to catch lead or carbon. Exactly. This really does look quite pointless. However, if the company I represent (like Honey Creek Outdoors for example) has this guy's company as a potential sponsor, I will probably be obligated to try it out no matter how stupid and pointless I think it is. That's just how business works. Dakota
buckee
I'd try it, but we don't have acorns here. Can't knock it until you try it.
ruttinbuc
I'd respond by asking him for one to try. No way would I pay 10 bucks for it. Guaranteed, it will end up in the gimmick drawer. I notice all the Krunchers hanging in Walmart have crunched packages. As if you are going to hear it through the packaging! The Walmart by me is out of most everything but those. Wonder why? camoman1
I would also probably chuckle a bit....kinda like everytime I see the commercial for that foolishness. I cant see why you would want to make any kind of noise while deer are close to you. I dont think that every deer is going to automatically associate that noise with another deer eating acorns. Why give them a reason to look up/at you....??? So to answer the question....I say thanks, but no thanks.
