92xj
http://www.realtree.com/forums/showthread.php?t=91316 Thursday, talked with Grandpa and he seemed to think Parker was doing a lot better. Vet said that he would think Jan-Feb would be the time to start thinking about ending the pain that is coming. Parker seemed to be not having any pain now and was just relaxing at home. Talked again Friday and all seems well. Saturday night Grandpa called the vet and asked him to come to the house. Being blind, he could not exactly drive him to the vet. Parker is not himself and seems like something is very wrong. Vet comes and gets Parker and Grandpa and goes to the clinic. Grandpa decides that instead of going through all the crap that is going to happen in the next 4-6 months, he would rather Parker meet God now. Parker, may you rest in Peace and know that you have brought the love and support my Grandfather needed. You will be missed by the family as well as your best friend, my Grandpa. No one had any idea this was going to happen which meant no warning to get back home to see him and help Grandpa. I feel like crap knowing that I could not be there with Parker and Grandpa, but things happen. In times of sadness and death I am totally disconnected from all and all I want to do is be by myself and deal with the things at hand alone. I now have discovered where I get this from, my Grandfather. He did exactly as I would have done. It is so hard knowing the person you look up to the most is down and sad and there is nothing you can do. RIP Parker. You are loved and will be truely missed *All dogs go to Heaven*

GWSmith
Stay in touch with Grandpa now more than ever...I know if it was me I'd be running up a phone bill bigtime;)
92xj
Before I left "home" I switch to unlimited nationwide just for this. Normally talk to him 4-5 times a week. He knows how much this is hurting me as well as him. We are close and will continue to remain that way. Tomorrow morning's phone call will be a tough one, but a well needed one.
