ruttinbuc
I would pass all year long. We have some absolute giants running around on our farm. You have the state of Illinois and their short gun seasons to thank for that. Hope they never get like NJ.

Rhino
I can't really tell from the video but I'll trust your judgement that he's mature. With that said...Here in MS I sure would take him out of the gene pool. We get 3 bucks here so I have no problems with taking out a mature cull buck. I took out a 5.5 year old 5 point here last year and a 4.5 year old 6 point a couple of years ago for the same reason. Doesn't make sense to me to let inferior antlered mature bucks walk and spread their genes around anymore than they already have when I still have the opportunity to continue hunting for a nice one. Now...If I was hunting in a state where I was limited to 1 buck for the season he would get a pass. BTW...there's a good article in this month's North Amercican Whitetail magazine about the culling question.

Here in NJ you can take up to 6 bucks a year with all the permits. The first archery season ends October 30. Then you have to buy a permit for $28 bucks for extended archery. The buck tag is another $28. Same for ML. :death: I hope to see this guy again. Have not heard a word about anyone lese seeing him in the club. Must be a secret! njbowhntr
Yes I would. The first chance I got. I got a very similiar buck in 2003.
dbHunterNY
I would regardless of region. I would shoot him if the area was managed and had many nice deer around. I would also definitely shoot him if he was in the area where I hunt now, because that caliber of deer isn't around where I hunt. I'd be taking the best buck for the area most likely. - Dan
ruttinbuc
Yes I would. The first chance I got. I got a very similiar buck in 2003. That is a good looking buck, njbowhntr!
