billygoat
Wondering~ I know that many of the users around here have used a SOP fall safety system (fss) by summit. For many years I have used a Tree Stand Safety FSS... with both of these fss's I found them to be slightly "heavy" and akward to walk in... the straps seemed to "pinch". Never the less, I had the utmost trust in there ability to prevent significant harm in the event of a fall, and I have wore a FSS faithfully for many years now. Recently I was at my local archery shop, where I was introduced to Muddy's new FSS. Although I wasn't in the market... I took a look. Then I drove home, went online and looked a little longer. The next day I jumped back in the truck and headed west to pick up my new FSS. It is awesome! Super light weight, extra fast to put on, comfortable... well equipped! Let me tell you~ if you aren't wearing a FSS due to the bulk/added weight/ and discomfort, give this thing a try. You will not be disappointed. Jeramie
I do use one but not as often as I should. Mainly because of the weight and bulk as you stated. I may have to run and check that out.

ruttinbuc
I need to replace mine. So they tell me. I have a Seat of the Pants harness. My question would be why do you need to replace it them every five years? Seems as solid as the day I bought it.... Guess the expectation is that the materials may degrade and better to be safe than sorry. We have a couple gorilla harnesses and I have the harness that came with my summit. I use my harness anytime I climb with the climber and also with my hangon, but do not use the harness for our 12 foot ladders or for our ladder stand blinds which do have rails around them. The_Kat
I just got the Hunter Safety Series Pro Series vest and I love it. Talk about easy to use and it's not too bulky. Heck I use it was my hunting vest to carry calls and stuff. All the straps use seatbelt buckles to cinch ya in. I never climb without it. But it's a hefty price at 129.99....but I figure my safety is worth that.
lil hunter
I have honestly never noticed the added bulk and/or weight whenever I put on a safety harness. Does that really bother you guys enough to not wear one? I used a Gorilla full body harness for awhile, and now I have the SOP that came with my Summit.
