umm my mom knows a friend that makes socks from alpaca fur,, she has a daughter that lives in alaska and she uses them all the time,, she gave me a pair to try out and i love them very comfy and keeps my feet warm. She sells them for 30 bucks but it cost 20 bucks for her to make them so she really isn't making a whole lot but they sure are nice!!

I agree with fly that with the amount of activity most everyones feet will sweat at least some and whicking socks are going to help your feet feel better longer.

My questions for you is what shoe size are your feet?

Also what size are your boots?

Most people add another layer of socks in their boots for winter to help their feet stay warm....it hurts more than it helps!

You simply can not stuff another layer or thicker winter socks into the same size boot that your regular sock fits comfortably in. Oh it will fit BUT it will compress the foot and decrease circulation...The main cause for cold feet!

Blood is the body's Anti-Freeze.

You must have boots large enough to eliminate compression with added sock layers and allow for circulation of warm air around the foot. Allowing the sock to retain as much loft as possible will help the foot stay warmer much longer.

My normal shoe size is a 12...but I buy and comfortably wear a boot size of 14 with winter socks. Though at first it may feel like your walking on pillows...My feet stay warm buried in the snow!

I'd reccomend getting boots that are 2 sizes larger than your regular shoe size. A couple layers of socks makes up the difference and will keep your feet warmer.

If you think about it having the old boots and stuffing more socks into them...it leaves less room for your feet!!!!!!!

If they fit good before then what happens to your feet after you add all the extra socks???

I honestly believe this change in my old habits has been the single biggest factor in me being able to hunt all day long!

I would suggest and thicker insulation in your boot, and under armour socks...I cant speak much as Gary has done blown every other idea out of the water ;) .... I do know that underarmour socks they sell over here keep your feet from sweating a great deal. Then again its 130 degrees over here, so I dont know the effect it would have in freezing temperatures. Not sure the sock would keep the foot warm rather than cool, but the heavier insulated boot should compensate for the difference.
