Texan_Til_I_Die
Welcome to the forums. I hope you're on the good guy's side in that "game." Poaching is a year 'round problem, but it does seem to peak about now. We've got a new game warden that I met for the first time the other day. Seems to be a likable enough young man. Hopefully he'll have some early successes on the poachers and the word will get out.

Iwas going to take him this year.
WvBowhunterKE
Im sorry to hear that, we have a bad problem with poaching up in Preston County every year, about the week before Rifle Season comes in...I guess everyone thinks, ah what the heck its only a week early....Then by the time the devoted hunters get out there to there spots ( speaking for the public land hunters... ) all there spots have turned to crap. backwoods07
We had a truck pull up in front of our house at 4am and shine his headlights into the fields next to our house. Someone turned the lights on in the house and he shot outta there pretty quick. Couldn't imagine what else he would be doing instead of poaching... Kinda scary. ruttinbuc
First thing is to identify poachers as criminals and not hunters. Don't want folks thinking they are one and the same. The second thing is to do what you would do for any criminal and that is to report them to the authority whether it be the warden, the sheriff, or the state and local police! Don't sit back and let these thieves steal your game. It is time for all of us to be proactive when it comes to anything that threatens the hunting heritage. Well said, we had a few poachers around us last year. They shot a total of 7 bucks and 4 does. To make it even worse they just shot them and left them to rot. Thankfully someone caught on to what they were doing and they were eventually caught.
g.white
They end up getting two or three every year . but it seems to run in family trees. if you get one then his family starts where he left off'
