fly
what do you shotgun hunters use on ur shotguns sites or scopes?? i dont have alot of money to by a scope right know but some year down the road i may consider doing it..if you shoot sites what kind do you use on ur rifled/smoothbore barrels??anyone have experince with red dot scopes?? I bought a tru-glo red dot for my smooth bore remington wingmaster 20 G for 60 bucks. I really like it so far. This will be the first year using it in the field. My gun shoots slugs consistent, but high. The red dot allows me to adjust since my gun only has a beed on the end of the barrel. I'm more accurate with it than I am with my rifled barrel 870 express 12 G.
RangerClay
I have a set-up very similar to what Fly has. I have a B-square mount and an Aimpoint red dot scope.
MUDRUNNER
I just put a B-Square mount and a Redhead red dot on my Winchester 1300/rifled barrel this year. I tried a scope, and since I've never used one I just couldn't get used to it. I've put about 5 boxes of slugs using the red dot, and so far so good. This will be my first year hunting with anything other than rifled sights, so we'll se how it goes.
brent13
bushnell's dusk to dawn is a must if you plan on using a scope
Turkeygirl
I have a 4 x 32 Tasco scope on my Mossberg 20 ga for shotgun deer season...was thinking about a new scope if I can find one reasonably priced..
DocMort
Before we went to rifles, I used a aimpoint red dot, B-square mount on my 870 12 gauge, slammed some deer with it. Very accurate.
84 z28
I have a smooth bore shotgun and use rifle sights. I have always used them and would probably never change. I always have been able to drop deer with them and also nice having the sights when dropping them when there on the run. I like it old school and just figure its one less thing to go wrong. slaw
The most affordable setup going has got to be the H&R ultra slug hunter , topped with a Bushnell , dusk and dawn.....a real tack driver.
