redkneck
I guess if there's no other option. I know of a couple of guys that have used it, with not so hot results. Looked like a bunch of coated rye grass seeds, and as you know, they'll come up in the back of your truck, but wont make a great stand. I suppose, like anything else, it depends on soil type, rain, fertilizer, etc. Good luck and post some pics if it does good for you.
dogdoc
i have used the Evolved Habitats Throw and Grow. If you can spray the desired plot to kill off the vegetation and remove all the debris such as limbs and dead leaves you can have a pretty nice little plot. The seeds still need to make soil contact but yes they work.
joeaveragehunter
I have a few spots like you described that can't be reached by the oliver 550...yet. I have tried throw and grow, secret spot, no plow, and the biologic one... can't remember the name. If I ever use them again I will triple the application rate. All of them "worked" but for the cost of round up and time raking and clearing by hand, I would just as soon planted some bare root apple trees. backwoods07
We've used all types of that stuff with mediocre results. If you get soil contact with the seed, stuff does grow, but fairly sparse. The majority of those seeds are different types of grass, so I haven't seen much attraction to the plots.
