To Hunt Or Not To Hunt

Ok, so I am going to take one upcomming Friday off of work to get a chance to spend a whole weekend in my treestand. Been seeing alot of big bucks but I haven't been able to hunt as much as I would like. So my question is I am hunting in Ohio which would you feel would be the better weekend. The weekend of Oct. 30th or the weekend of Nov. 6th? I originally picked the 6th because there is a full moon the previous Monday and that first week in November usually is a pretty decent one. What do you think? Thanks guys

It's actually a tough call, Oct 30 and Nov 6 are both good dates, but I think you might have some better luck on Oct 30, since the weather has been consistently cold, I feel the rut is going to start about a week or two early this year. There has already been talk of bucks running some does, but I think it'll be another week or so for the does to be ready.

i know its not tradition, but i prefer the last weekend in Oct. for some reason here in Iowa i can see a lot more bucks cruising and receptive to calling and rattling at that time. once they get a nose full of doe, they wont leave her for nothing.

either weekend should be good for you, but pick the one that is going to have the best weather. nothing sucks worse than scheduling time to go hunting and then have it rain the whole time.

thanks guys. Yeah the 6th was the date I had originally picked. I didn't know if that previous Monday being a full moon would mess it up but I have read in numerous articles that the time change as well as the full moon has a tendancy of really triggering the rutting activity. I think what I will do is fill the vacation form out for the 6th and if the weather looks bad I'll just go to work that Friday and see if I can take off that Monday instead.
