Man this is unbelievable. How in the world in this day and age does a pilot who was convicted of felony drug charges gets behind the stick on a life flight or survival flight team. Would sure seem with all the regs the faa has that that pilot would have been grounded and the company would have done some kind of checking. Very very sad.

I was just thinkin about this situation the other day. I remember this happening right after I joined up here. Very sad. I lost my best friend last year to a chinook crash in Iraq. The Army wont give us all the info but the 2 storys are either pilot error or mechanical failure. Either way we do know that that chopper was under a "Red X" meaning it never should have been in the air. I hate how someone not payin enough attention or doing their job right can cost so many precious lifes. RIP

That's about what I was thinking. Unbelievable is an understatement.

14,000 hours is a real well qualified pilot. but hiring a co-pilot with a drug history is insane. if there is a shadow of good news here, it's that david's family will be taken care of for life. the insurance company will do about anything here to avoid a lawsuit. we're talking lots of millions, and we'd sacrifice it all to have david and the others back.

Think from the way I read that his license was revoked, how the company was letting this man fly is beyond my comprehension. Maybe I overlooked it, but I did not see anywhere that said his license was ever reinstated.

I still remember that night on here when Buckee, BowtechTurkeyHunter, and myself put two and two together and realize our friend David was part of that terrible tragedy. Never slept that night.

Still miss our friend, he was one of a kind and basically an Angel that God put down here to save people.

This new news makes you shake your head and wonder who is watching who? :(
