ALAN
can u use baking soda has a scent killer? or is the unscented laundry soap better to use?
Ethan Givan
Yes you can wash your clothes in baking soda to remove odors. I do it myself. I can buy a box of baking soda at walmart for $0.57 which is good for probably 10 or 12 loads of hunting clothes in the washer. Its cheaper and it works. Muleyman
I use scent free laundry detergant and it works fine. I did make my own scent killer using baking soda though, it work but not as good as the stuff you can buy. All you do to make it is you put a few table spoons of baking soda in water. redkneck
Firm believer in BS here! I do add just a tad of tide to my clothes when I've been sweating a lot. Need something to cut through the oils. Nothing like a good outside breeze for the best in scent control to me. Also have used different "hunter's" laundry detergents with great results. Yeah I forgot to mention putting them out on the line to air out. I leave mine out all day in the breeze then put them in air tight container. Works great. Do you measure it off just like washing powder or is that to much/ not enough? If you've got one of them "liquid detergent only" washers (like we do), Mix it with water first and make a slurry. ;) No problems

Ethan Givan
how much do you use?? I dont know for sure, I just kinda dump it in there till it looks about right. Im gonna guess 3 or 4 tablespoons. Guess it would depend how much clothes your washing at once too. I always do small loads.

patriotoutlaw
Yes it works. Before the scent killer "craze" came in, Myles Keller would put Baking Soda in a plastic bag, then put it on his head before adding his signature sock hat to cover it. I use it and Wool-Ite to wash my huntin clothes in for yrs. It works. DO NOT use Tide or any of your wife's favorite laundry det., they all contain UV brighteners. Wool-Ite does not. Baking Soda also works mixed with peroxide and distilled water to make your own scent killer spray. Alot cheaper and it does work. NOTHING that I am aware of will defeat a Whitetails nose 100% of the time. So DON'T forget the wind and just hunt!
