The Carbon Matrix is a diffrent beast. Its a bow that you either love or hate. With the fact that Hoyt will only run a limited production of them and the cost to actually build one the price is going to be high. Will there be people who buy one??? Of course, will I uhhhhhhhhh no, I like to be able to come home and sleep in comfort without the fear of being castrated in my sleep.

Now for the other bows I will say that Hoyt did answer the demands once again. For the guys that wanted a speed bow they came out with the Alphaburner. 340 IBO and the great thing about Hoyt is how conservative they are with their speed. If it says 340 then after some tweeking it will get 350. As a matter of fact i read a post somewhere else where a guy shot a 350gr arrow 70lbs@ 28.5" draw and got 333!!!!!! Thats smoking considering that ALL IBO speeds are based on a 30" draw. For those that dont know, the longer the draw the faster the bow even at the same draw weight and arrow weight

The Maxxis 31,35 are the premier hunting bow. Short ATA and light weight with a beyond parallel design when at full draw.

The target side of the house got an unexpected re-vamp also. There is no longer the Ultra or Pro elite's:bummed: however the Contender Elite has the all the bonuses of the Pro and Ultra with a riser that is neither reflexed or deflexed and the new limb pocket design.

Once again in my OPINION Hoyt really hit the nail on the head with the new bows. That Alphaburner will definetly be my shooters bow this year!!!! Loving those spirals the more I shoot them!!!

This speed deal is really getting out of hand. If you really want to compare apples to apples then how about you take the Mathews or PSE you are talking about set it up and see just how close to IBO they really are. I'll bet my paycheck that they dont produce the numbers they are advertising even at the 70-30-350. Perfect example, I know of a shop that set up a monster @ 27" draw 65lbs with a 330gr arrow. It shot 303. Now you wanna hear the funny thing............... I shoot a 07 Vulcan at 62 lbs 27" draw with a 320 gr arrow and its shooting 298. Thats a bow that is IBO for 330 at 70-30. Only 5fps faster for a bow that is 2 yrs older????

The others can preach about their "speed" but in all actuality they over advertised the real speed.

Ultratec I'm with you all the way brother. Shooting my Vulcan with same specs except 60 lbs and 306 grain arrow at 290. Switched back to my Axis arrows for hunting, but its just as fast as any other average 2009/2010 bow out there. Let me know how that Alphaburner shoots. It looks like a new version of the Vulcan/Katera. I love my Vulcan and can't see parting with it for a long time if ever. I'm sure the speed freaks will figure out sooner or later that speed isn't going to help them shoot better.
