arrow32
Welcome to the forums. Some things happen I'd understand if he had no idea. But if he heard it I be thinking what the heck. Then again in the heat of the moment he might not of heard it.
ruttinbuc
Things happen fast when a deer shows up. It is the way it is. No reason to get mad about it. I'd be more concerned about his bow working and shooting right so that it doesn't happen again. At 13 there will be a lot more things to learn in bow hunting. Count that as one of them. It won't be the last time a deer runs off.
shaunandjulie
Very unfortunate. I'd be having it looked at though to see why it did it in the first place. I bought my girlfriend a new Diamond bow from Bass Pro this year and we got it home and started shooting it, and it was shooting really bad off past ten yards. After going through two sites and realizing that it wasn't the site I noticed that the cam was cutting into the string. We had to take it all the way back to St. Louis, 2 1/2 hours away and they fixed it.
joeaveragehunter
That is a tough one, but that is bowhunting.
Tink
Dry fire? Sound like a dry fire I have never heard of that before. The laws of Physics make it almost impossible for string to come off cams like that. TINK

Rhino
I've had things happen to me at the moment of truth when Murphy's Law prevailed. The older I get though the easier it is to swallow. Most times I just shake my head, share it with my buddies, and laugh it off as just another bad experience. I figure it all evens out over time. But the good thing is, is he didn't get hurt from it all, could have turn out bad...
