Well... Opening day in NY was a mess. Heavy snows the other day weighted the trees down and it started raining. So all the slush was falling off them all darn day, not to mention it was foggy thins morn. But spirits are up cause its just opening day. Hoping to see one of the two brutes who leark in the area.;)

Since we don't live too far away dsharp...same exact weather. Saw nothing from the stand this evening...just the rain...as I walked out, saw a small buck in a field who ran into some corn...then driving out saw a lone deer in another field...

For some reason it didn't really seem like the opener...I think all my anticipation led to a let down, lol.

I'll be happy for the dry weather we are getting. Wet leaves stresses me...constantly looking because you can't hear the deer coming...and getting soaked. Sunday AM might be good...good luck all!

We lucked out here in southern NY, (Dutchess county). The weather was ok, rain held out all day even saw the sun for a few minuets. For me it was great day to be in the woods. 13 deer 7 were fawns one button buck that made it be a small spike about 2 inches long. the rest were adult does and two bucks a nice looking 4 point and one other buck that all i could see was that there were antlers on its head. still a lot of leves on the trees.. good opening day here.. best of all did not see another person in the woods.

hopefully good signs for the start of the season.. good luck everyone.
