VABuckSlayer
A friend of mine and I got off from work a little early today and went fishing. We hit a couple ponds at one of my hunting properties and tore em up. We put in one pond and at the end we started fishing the water temp was 45.3. We worked our way toward the back and when we got to a spawning flat the water temp was 55.2. That's where we smoked em. We caught 12 bass and lost 4 more within 15 minutes in that little pocket. They were right up against the bank. I was catching them on a jerkbait and a jig-n-pig and my buddy was catching them on a worm. We caught a couple more heading back to the truck and decided to try another pond before dark. The water temp there was from 45-47. No real warm water and we only caught 2 bass. Before we left we made a couple cast in one more pond from the bank and I caught a nice female that weighed 6.5 lbs. I took a bunch of pics on my disposable cam but didn't have my digital. When I get the film developed I'll post some pics. Most of the fish we were catching were from 1-2.5 lbs. Pretty awesome couple hours of fishing for mid February! Texan_Til_I_Die
Re: Hit the water today I fished a tournament last Saturday and found a few beds, but the fish were still real spooky and I never managed to catch one. Still 2 - 3 weeks away from the good fishing. Water temp in lower 50's.
