bone collector draws blood...

Well...I usally don't like hunting in the rain, but I went out Thurs. evening in the rain. It was cold and raining, so I dressed for it. About an hour before dark I had a nice (at least an 8pt.) feeding up the hill towards me.

Grabbed the bow...got drawn right before he entered my shooting lane. Stopped him at about 18 yards broadside...shot under him...missed him clean!:hammer1: I have no idea what happened.

Fast forward to Fri. evening...again, cold and raining...just to be sure, I trashed a rage head by shooting at a tissue on the bank. Hit about an 1" low at 20 yards...not the bow!

In stand, had 12 deer in the field...6 right in front of me. 3 adult does and 3 button bucks. Long story short...when I finally got bow in hand the first adult doe that offered a shot was about 25 yards quartering away. Let the arrow fly...hit a little far back...but had too do to the quartering away angle. The rage head lodged in the oppsite front shoulder...she went about 50 yards and dropped. Blood was tough to follow due to the rain and no pass through...but we were downwind and could smell her when we were with in 20 yards.

Sorry, only pic. I have is on my cell, it was getting late and wanted to get her gutted and outta there. Not sure, maybe someone can help me...I don't have internet access on my phone...but unlimited text/pics. Can I send that pic. to my email?

Here is the only pic I had (and I'm not in it)...sorry its not the best picture...but I took it with the phone right before dark and had some work to do before moving her. Like I said...it seemed a little far back, but the Rage head lodged in the right front shoulder...so it was right where it needed to be with the quartering away angle at 25 yards.
