dogdoc
Never been a big Brett fan but always thought he played hard and left everything he had on the field after the game. Vikings are playing some darn good ball right now but b/c of a miracle catch and a missed field goal they could easily be 4 - 2 right now. MUDRUNNER
Vikes are tough this year! To me it looks like their biggest weekness is pass defense. They score plenty of points, but need to not give up so many yards. Favre is the man, and seems to be playing some of the best football he's played in years. Tominator
Think I'm going to drive to my dad's, go up into his attic and grab my Fran Tarkenton football and jersey. I don't think the jersey will fit anymore, but I'm sure the football is still in good shape. Think I'm about done with the Browns, I'll go ahead and claim my boyhood favorite team again. muggs
You guys never will learn about this Favre guy, will you?:hammer1: Think back to this time last year. Everyone was talking up the Jets, they beat the undefeated Titans, "Jets to the Super Bowl" is all you heard. They looked...well, they looked like the the Vikings do now, didn't they? AAAAHHHHH....but then, then my friends Favre started playing like the old, over-hyped INT machine the guy is and threw something like 14 INTs vs. 4 TDs to close out the year. It got Mangini fired and the Jets didn't even make the playoffs. It's early, that old Wrangler wearing body of Fav-rah's is gonna wear down and now that the media is back to hyping him, he's already starting to believe his own hype and INTs will come in bunches as he forces terrible, terrible throws into windows he couldn't even fit a ball into when he was 22. Then...and only then my friends, will ESPN start speculating if he'll come back or not. He'll waffle...except this time it's the rival of his old team he's screwing. Foolish Green Bay fans will continue to rip Ted Thompson, the guy who draft Rodgers and hired McCarthy...two of the best moves any franchise has made.... There isn't a team in the NFL that isn't just one injury away from disaster. You never know what can happen and Favre has admitted to it. Yes, there is a lot of season left and the possibility of Favre to get hurt or tank his game is there, but that's a possibility for every team. One point you seem to ignore is when Favre's game went in the tank last year he was playing with a torn bicep tendon or whatver it was. Obviously his game will suffer in that situation. He has come back great from surgery and no one knows what will happen, but the fact is he is a great quarterback, playing great football. Hate him or any other team ya want, but he always has been and is a great quarterback! Another thing you didn't mention was he's never had a running back like Adrian Peterson on his team. He's surrounded by talent. He has a good attitude, and seems confident and to really be enojoying his time with the Vikings. He doesn't have to be the greatest of all time with this team. Man...he saw you comin'. Your bicep tendon doesn't force you to throw into triple coverage...your ego does. That's actually the Browns problem too, they all have torn bicep tendons.

If you wanna burry your head in the sand, I can't blame a Browns fan for doing that.

Muggs...the greatest sports mind on Realtree.com! You are right on the money with that post. What a lot of people fail to understand is that Favre used NYJ lsat year. Playing for NYJ was simply a formality so he could get to Minnesota. He didn't care whether or not he won there. You knew he would fake another retirement, get released from NYJ and then come back again and join Minnesota. This past offseason should have been no surprise to anyone. Minnesota was two plays from being 4-2, but they got good breaks and lucky with them and are 6-0. Wait until that team has to play outside in the elements. Just remember Minnesota fans, 'ol Brent is NOT doing this for you or your team. His only goal is to stick it to Ted Thompson and Green Bay. He accomplished that with the win earlier this month. If Minnesota wins on November 1, then his work is done. It is highly unlikely he'll return for another season. If GB wins on November 1, Brent will be back. I'll stop there. No need for another Favre rant from me. :hammer1:

muggs
The Vikings are selling out their identity. Throwing the ball two times in a row at the goalline when you have All Day AP in your backfield? Favre is going to cost them...he's all ready taking away from AP. Be careful what you wish for, just ask Jet fans.

Be careful what you wish for, just ask Jet fans. I know that we had our differences before lol but I agree with ya here!!!!! 1st and goal and they pass to Kleinsausser?!?! You hand the ball off to AP three times in a row if you have to, cuz they aren't stoppin him that many times! All in all it was a heart breaker, I hate to be one of THOSE guys but, it all went down hill after that game changing, HORRIBLE tripping call that negated Sidney Rice's TD. The steelers didn't even play THAT well. The Vikes should have come away with the win there! I don't think Favre is taking away from AP though...not sure if anyone can do that...but geez, what a heart breaker. As long as they shove it to the packers I'll be happy! punkinslinger
The Steelers had a bad call as well...the one on Miller for "getting run over" by a Minn defender??? That cost Pitts a TD as well.

Be careful what you wish for, just ask Jet fans. Agreed. Favre threw the ball 52 times or something like that. That's crazy. Now, nobody ever runs against the Steelers and their secondary is a weakness, but if you have Peterson you give him the ball 25 times every single game regardless of who you are playing.
