backwoods07
Hey guys!! Playoffs!! Wake up!!! To me, this is the most exciting time of the year, not because of four different sports compete for the attention of fans at once, but because the culmination of every single pitching matchup, every single upset, and every single steroid rumor is happening right before our eyes!! Baseball playoffs! We all get to join forces and root against the Yanks. What's with the lack of attention in both the media and amongst our peers? If you're out there watching and hanging on to these last few games of the season, what are your thoughts?!? Yanks in 4? Angels in 7? Let's get some trash talk goin!! Tominator
If I had my satellite back, I'd be watching, but right now, I'm reduced to what Fox can give me if all the stars line up and I can get a decent reception from the government instituted digital crap signal. Ohiobucks
I'd rather paint a wall and watch it dry...... :paint:
muggs
I'd rather paint a wall and watch it dry...... :paint: You're such a Negative Nancy. Honestly, I could care less about baseball anymore. Until there's a salary cap, the sport is going to suffer greatly. I mean, Boston and NY buy their way in almost every year, you have two LA teams and Philly isn't exactly a small market and they have a huge payroll. It also doesn't help that I have to watch about a dozen former Tribe players, especially Lee and CC winning it for other teams. How can I get into my team when I know one day Victor Martinez (used to be my favorite player) will be catching for the BoSox even when he said 100 times he loved the Indians and wanted to stay here? Right now the NFL is king, and it's because of parody (beside the Lions and Browns) but once greed makes them do away with the salary cap that's going to be ruined too. Screw baseball...and eventually, I think I may be saying screw pro sports. Edited October 20, 2009 by muggs
backwoods07
Wow guys! Didn't mean to bring up such a sore subject! Baseball will never lose it's charm. Salary cap or no salary cap, I don't have to watch a bunch of prima donna's cry about a scratch, or 8 foot tall ogres complaining about only making $50 mil a year. You're not playing one game? Of course you can't afford a suit to wear on the bench, so of course, wear your gangster white tee and your sideways flat brim hat. The NBA will never get my respect. NFL? Teams form rosters around people that are in jail. Enough said.
AceArcher
I pretty much lost interest after Holiday dropped that fly ball in the 9th. Rams suck also...along with bears....I guess I will just hunt until March Madness starts. However, things could be worse...I could have been born a Cubs fan. muggs
Wow guys! Didn't mean to bring up such a sore subject! Just wait until I have to watch Cliff Lee and CC face each other in game one of the WS. That's going to really burn my tail.

The umpiring was absolutely horrendous last night, by the way. I didn't know it was possible to suck and blow at the same time. Then, Mclelland or whatever the heck his name is released a statement of explanation. That was even more confusing than his bonehead call!!!! Serious question here. Did he get a call right all game? Agreed that the umpiring cure was a bit off last night but at least it didn't impact the outcome of the game. The Yankees were on last night and owned the Angels. :(
