Jeramie
So this past week the wife and I had somewhere to go after work. I had an hour to wait on her so I stopped by a local pawn shop to fiddle around. I was looking at tools and such but ended up at the gun section of course... He had several guns on the wall, none that really turned my head until I noticed a mint condition stock with a black knob painted on the end. At first it looked like an old Remington 700 so I asked him about it. He told me it was a Ruger and I confirmed that with one look at the rings. He told me it was a good .30-06 and had only one box of shells shot through it. I had never seen one like it so I had him hand it to me. Sure enough, Ruger M77 Mark 2, .30-06. The barrel was skinny and the gun didnt weigh anything. I have never seen one like it so I asked about it. Turns out he bought the gun and it had to much recoil for him. He is probably in his late 70's so he brought it to the shop and put it in the back.A few years later he brought it out and put it on the shelf. The rest of the evening I sweet talked the wife and thought about it. The next morning we went to the bank for another reason but while I was there I called and asked his price and bottom dollar. He wanted $475 but would take $450 out the door (he would pay the tax which is around $40). I pulled the money from our savings. I stopped by a local gun shop on the way wanting to look around before I spent $450. He had several of the old Remington 7400's, 742's, etc. He also had some Savage models. I got to talking to him about the rifle and he told me it was Ruger's answer to a mountain rifle, very light, very accurate. That sold me on it. I ran to the shop after that and picked it up. Im going to top it with some new glass as the scope that is on it isnt worth a flip (cheap Redfield 4X TV Scope). Still, im pretty happy with the purchase! Ruger Ultra Light, .30-

ousoonerfan22
How's the trigger on your new rifle? If it's too heavy you might have Wayne in Chouteau work on it.I'm satisfied with his work.
