RangerClay
Are you practicing in your hunting clothes? Sounds to me like you are changing something once you get in the stand.

hutchies
Man it happens..............we all have up and down years. 2 years ago I missed 2 in the first 2 days of season. Then I connected on the biggest buck of my life only to follow the blood trail to a gut pile and realizing somebody else seen him go down. redkneck
3 misses in 23 years!!!!! Holy cow man, you're due for a few misses!!!!! Missing a deer with a bow is like a little fender bender in the car. You start to question things and you just have to regain your confidence. Go through your setup and get back in the tree! Rhino
You might need to do a little practice shooting with your broadheads from an elevated position. If nothing else, it will sure help your confidence.
Tominator
It's got to be a mental thing dude. That's what I'm thinking. If your equipment is checking out, what else could it be? Follow through. Watch your arrow hit.
Tony
It's got to be a mental thing dude. That's what I'm thinking. If your equipment is checking out, what else could it be? Follow through. Watch your arrow hit. i agree. i had the same thing a few years ago and i missed 4 does in 2 weeks and i knew the yardage to everyone of them and all of them were under 30 yards. i found i wasnt taking my time and punching the trigger and dropping my bow. a buddy helped me with a little mantra to repeat and i use it all the time for hunting. its just something for me to repeat to help me do my shot routine and slow down. for me its "find the 10 ring", "find the 10 ring". i shoot a lot of 3D and when i do this mantra for hunting, it allows me to focus on an exact spot on the deer. i just let the rest of the shot kind of happen. a few of the last deer i have shot, it scared the crap out of me when the bow went off. slow down, pick a spot and let the shot just happen. stay with it, you will beat this problem. at least your lucky, you havent wounded any. fly
Have you had your vision checked lately? As we age our eye sight starts to decline.
MichiganHunter
I dont know how your practicing but try this, I had the same issue for a month or so and this helped me, set up a stand in your back yard....get your bow up there and arrows. Strat on the ground and RUN/SPRINT as hard as you can, climb the stand and shoot, or dont use a stand... I DONT KNOW...that sucks my friend, you prob just missed the 150 cause theres a 170 running around that will show up... I bet most all of it is in you mind Edited October 20, 2009 by MichiganHunter
arrow32
Like they said. Your mind is getting you. Forget about the misses and focus on your next shot.
