Ethan Givan
viper Yep, Summit viper is great. Actually you cant go wrong with any of the Summit climbers.
MichiganHunter
summit viper or the goliath depending on your size, I bought a viper a few years ago and have only gotten taller and am going to sell my viper and buy a goliath...but the summit line up of climbers ARE the best....you'll love it. bbarnhart20
I've used a summit bushmaster for about the past 8 yrs, and it great for bowhunting, it's light and not to bulky. I'd stick with summit, really well built and not too pricy, but it's all about what you like and what you feel comfortable in.
PaBowhunter00
I just bought the Summit Viper umm a week ago, it's a great, I'm still getting used to climbing with it, so I'm working the kinks out, but It's amazing, I actually fell asleep in it twice tonight, rofl. It's amazingly comfortable, easy to carry through the woods, and not heavy. I'd recommend it to anyone. Summit Viper A+

The_Kat
if your an archer I personally recommend the summit razor. You can push the front rail down out of the way of your limbs. I have the razor and the viper and I like the razor better.
Missilelock
Ive never used a summit, but I have had great luck with the APA grand slam lite. mine is several years old & I dont know if you can buy a new one.

I thought about the Lone Wolf Hand Climber, had one but never hunted out of it, just didn't feel safe. Bought it and sold it in the same week. wtnhunt
Don't know which one is the best, but I am pretty happy with my summit.
Ohiobucks
ok whats the difference bewteen the viper ss and the razor i just priced them out and theres only a $10 difference The Viper's climbing bar is solid: The Razor's climbing bar folds under the seat, so there is no front interference once you get to your hunting height. The_Kat
Wow I never knew it would fold up that far Tom. I usually left the bar out in front but lowered. I'm gonna have to investigate this lol.
Ohiobucks
You have to slide the hold bars out of the bolts, but that is how it is designed. I hunt with it folded all the way back as shown.

arrow32
That Razor is pretty sweet. I like that alot. Might need to look into that.
JackedUpZ71
at 6.2 you need you need a summit 180 for leg room iam 6.0 and love my 180 the viper is going to be too small I'm 6' 3" and my viper fits me fine. If you have a pretty big frame you might want to get the 180 or the goliath. Otherwise the viper should be all the stand that you need. MichiganHunter
Am 6ft 2 i think am going to go with the viper ss i think but not sure yet I right there with ya, I'm 6'4" 285, I have the regula viper and I looking at getting(when I got the one I have I was like 6' and like 220 and it's just a bit snug now) a new one next year and I goig to get the Goliath, It's got that little bit of extra room that will just make the difference in comfort. You might try to go to cabelas if you have one close, The one I got to they will let you sit in some of the stands and see how they fit, I want the extra size of the goliath....but the ss whould be cool too I think. just-an-illusion
Cheap shouldn't be any part of the decision when it comes to your safey. If you cant justify spending $300 or so on a treestand that is proven to be the best of the best, then you should just hunt from the ground, and not take your chances with a cheaper stand. With that said and out; I am 6'2" 270lbs and have no problems with my viper not being big enough. If I were to buy a new stand it would however be the Summit 180. Not just for the little bit bigger size, but also for it being able to turn the seat around. Just my opnion. Good luck this hunting season and GOD BLESS
Hoyt03
I like my summit open shot for bow hunting, plus its only 15 lbs. The best all around is the viper, but I was used to my old loggy and didn't need a bar in front of me plus I don't mind hand climbing. Summits are rock solid to the tree compared to my loggy and much quieter
