LifeNRA
Yesterday morning as I was walking to my stand. I seen a pair of eyes glowing yellowish orange in my light beam. I stopped to watch it, seen it blinking as it was watching me. Never did see what it was, still not sure what animal this was. We all know whitetail deer have a yellowish green when hit with a light source. So, if you seen and know any animal while spot lighting at night or walking to your stand, post your results! bugleward
eye color Hey Bud: Take it from a master spotlighter. Most likely what you saw was a ferral cat. For the most part the redish and greenish eyes go to foxes and cats. A bobcat is brilliant green a red fox is mostly an orange and I am not sure what a kitfox or any of the other foxes eye colors are. However the fact that you saw it in your hand cary light (flashlight) and it did not bolt immediately makes me think most likely a house cat or ferral cat. That being said... the worst animal out there for those of us who like to hunt birds is the ferral cat. There should be a law -- all ferral cats be killed on sight. Now don't go psyco on me, I am not a cat hater. I am a ferral cat hater. they are evil demons bent on eliminating all upland came birds and even nesting ducks. Good luck bud. ruttinbuc
Some deer eyes show a reddish glow though most are the yellow green you describe. Saw this many times.
buckee
I think it really depends on the light source. MAYBE A CAT MAYBE AN OWL MAYBE A RACCOON HERE'S A COUGAR'S EYES AT NIGHT
Tominator
I'd agree with the cat, they seem to be yellowish most times. Coons are greenish to me.

LifeNRA
My father and I both thought it might have been a coon. I would imagine that the light source makes a difference. I was using a LED. My post had two things going on here. One, to help other hunters identify what we see at night. Two, to help me determine what I seen. Thanks for the responses!
