mosscamo
finally had some action today, after seeing nothing for the first whole week of archery here in NY, my luck changed this morning. went out to a different stand, climbed up, hooked in and then pulled my bow up....not 5 minutes after i had done that i've got a beautiful looking red fox not 15 yards from my stand. i get stood up, start to draw and halfway through my draw it spots me and takes off....man fox are hard critters to get with a bow! 15 minutes or so later, i see two deer about 80 yards from me, couldn't tell if they were doe or bucks, wouldn't come in for me....then i have a tall spike come in about 10 minutes later...half hour after the spike left, here comes a big bodied but small racked 7 pointer...2 very small pts plus brow tine on one side and 3 really small pts plus brow tine on the other side. this guy hangs around for some 10-15 minutes never knowing i was there. If i only hunted for the meat and not for the trophy as well, i could've easily shot either buck many times over. sorry for the long post, but i was excited about finally having some action here in NY....a lot of people around here that i know haven't seen hardly anything, so i'm happy i could break that trend this morning. going back out tonight....hope it's as fun as earlier today! Airman312
sounds like a fun time in the stand...I have always told people I like to watch the critters as much as I like to shoot them!!!
arrow32
Sounds like you had a great day in the stand. Always nice just to sit and watch them walk around.
