Grady269
I shot some 250gr Precision rifle bullets out of my Encore this weekend and I was blown away by the accuracy of them, same hole type accuracy. I am "very" skeptical about changing bullets, have had really good luck with the Barnes Expander MZ's that I have been shooting. Has anyone had any experience with the performance of the Precision Rifle bulllets on deer? They are all lead and just look "soft". Any feedback would be appreciated. The PR's shoot fantastic, but I know I can count on the Barnes to break both shoulders and come out the other side.
headhunter54
Dead Center I changed from pellets and Power Belts to 110 gr Triple 7 and Dead Center 300 gr bullets. First time at the range I put 2 in the same hole at 100 yards. 3 within 8 inches at 200 yards. This is proof at 148 yards. This will be my load from now on. Grady269
THAT IS A b-YOUTIFUL BUCK! Can you tell me: -Where did the bullet hit him -Did it go all the way through -Did you recover the bullet -How would rate the terminal performance
headhunter54
Hit him in the right shoulder, went thru to the opposite shoulder. The hide kept it from exiting, the bullet fell off when the hide was pulled down. I will use them from now on.
Buckeye54
I tried the Dead Center 240 gr out of my Traditions pursuit XLT this summer. I was shooting 100 gr of 777 and using CCI 450m small rifle primers. I really found them to be very accurate, getting 1 and a half inch groups at 150 yds. I tried 110 grs 777 also, but I got better groups with 100. My buddy started shooting the 240 gr out of his Savage with the same results. He got a doe during early muzzleloader and the bullet entered behind the right front leg, took out both lungs, and busted up the opposite shoulder. The deer only went 10 yds. So far I have been real happy with them. I hope I get the chance to see how they do personally later this fall.
Grady269
Breaking both shoulders satisfies me, gonna run a real world test in the morning when the VA muzzle-loader season opens.
