Tony
well i had a doe come in this morning and at 20 yards i put what i thought was a great shot on here. i got a complete passthrough and she walked off and laid down just 50 yards away. i could see the blood pouring out of her and i figured it was going to be over very quickly. but it wasnt. a little buck came along and she got up and walked away from him at a fast pace. i was amazed, i could see the hole in her and i was sure i had made a good shot, but i replayed it and i know i did. so after she walked off i gave her about 25 mins and i got down to go check the arrow and blood sign. i walked to where she was laying and theres blood everywhere and lots of it. its a trail a blind man could follow. so i start going after her thinking any moment i would see her laying dead in front of me. after i had gone 150 yards!, i came out of the cedar thicket and i heard something and she stood up at the edge of a dry creek. she stood up and was staring at me. i could see her kind of wobble. i figured i was busted and was still amazed this doe wasnt dead. i got out the laser rangefinder and she was 62 yards away. i lined up the shot and smoked her and that put her down for good. heres a few pics. both shots are good, but the higher one is the 20 yard shot and the lower one is the 62 yarder. this side is the exit hole side. Tominator
Unbelievable that first shot didn't hit a lung, the heart or the windpipe Tony. Crazy. 62 yards? That's crazy too. I didn't know you had a 62 yard pin. We all know about the 31 pin.
RangerClay
That's unbelievable! You must have just nicked one lung on the first shot to get so much blood. BUT 62 yards!! :jaw: My farthest pin is 40 yards but then again I'm new to bow hunting.
Dakota
That really is crazy, I would have thought she would've keeled over a lot sooner! As far as pins go, I have a 20, 30, 40, 50 and 60. Dakota

Tony
What amazes me is your 62 shot is better than the 20 yarder Nice shots buddy! She'll eat good. yea thats funny. i thought from a 28 ft treestand i would have a low exit hole. but the arrow came out just like it went in, maybe thats why she went so far. the arrow must have deflected inside her somehow. i was aiming for the offside exit hole to be in the armpit area. any way you shake it, i got my doe tag filled. the 62 yard shot was just a spur of the moment thing. she was standing there staring at me and i couldnt think of any course of action but to try and get another arrow into her. when i ranged it at 62, i thought i can make that shot. nothing was in the way and i knew i could do it. i would not ever shoot that far unless its to put another arrow into a wounded deer. now that i think about it, this is the closest i have ever come to not finding a deer. im positive i would have found her dead in the next hour. sskybnd
wtg tony, nice doe and nice shot at 62 yards, and like kat said the 62yard shot looks better than the 20. maybe you should give them some distance before you shoot them. :clown:
ruttinbuc
Amazing how these animals do that! Incredible will to live. WTG, Tony! 62 yards is 31 x 2. Just a chip shot, eh? Good shooting!
Tom2008
I couldn't tell you how she went that far with that first shot Tony. The 62 yard shot, like everyone else has said, is amazing. Great shooting and congrats on the doe. You smoked her twice!

Dead on her feet, but too dumb to lay down..LOL Way to go Tony.:)
