gzilla45
I'm truly jealous of the fact that you are eating fresh oysters. It's been a couple of years since I've had good fresh ones as it is hard to get them up here in Wisconsin.
RangerClay
Not sure if I could down 3-4 dozen in one sitting but I really enjoy raw oysters. My mother makes an awesome oyster stew.
redkneck
Not sure if I could down 3-4 dozen in one sitting Well, I usually wouldnt eat so many at one sitting either Joe, but I had shucked about half of them for my wife and she didnt want any when she got home, so... :eat: They weren't as big as last year's crop either. Jeramie
I LOVE oysters but had never had fresh ones until I went to N. Florida back in July. I stopped at Clarks family restaurant in Jacksonville, FL. They had a deal where you could add Half a dozen really cheap to any dinner. I tried them with some hot sauce and horse radish and holy cow! I was seriously in love. Had I been there another night I would have gone back and ordered a couple of dozen. Those things were INCREDIBLE! I wish we had fresh ones around here. Especially as cheap as they were down there...
redkneck
Yep, gotta have some hot sauce, a splash of lemon, and horseradish is a MUST! Nothing like a fresh one with a cold one Most bars around here you can pick them up around 4 bucks a dozen, but this year they're going to be a lot higher. My buddy tried some last night in a shot glass with hot sauce, a touch of horseradish, lemon juice, tomato juice and vodka and said it was great. I've yet to give that one a shot. That's a perfect recipe Steve. The horseradish really compliments them, and so does a cold one.
