The Kid
well i was sitting in a stand this afternoon when i noticed a coyote walking into my setup,, normally i would be extactic but i notice as the yote was coming into my setup that something wasn't right, so i pulled up the binos and looked ya the yote was shot with an arrow,, still had it stuck in him,, i felt so bad, no animal should have to suffer like that,, he walked just out of distance and layed down in our field about three hundred yards from my setup around 400 yards from the house, so i figured i better get down grab the .204 and do the right thing,, so i got home got undressed grabbed my gun and started to walk out out in his general location got out to about 200 yards and he noticed me and just sat there, honestly was one of the hardest things i had to do, with the yote looking at me like that,, i know there bad and they eat fawns and stuff but for any of god's creatures to suffer breaks my heart,, the guy that shot him had an aluminum arrow with a 4 blade muzzy didnt get a whole lot of penatration.. im just glad i got to end his suffering.. backwoods07
Glad you did the right thing. I find it hard to show compassion for those critters, but I still wouldn't want to see one suffer like that. Good work! Of course we all want pics! Rem308
You did the right thing by ending the suffering. I remember the first that you took earlier with the bow...don't beat yourself up at all...you put a heck of a shot on a coyote, you did the right thing, and I would have tried the exact same. Okbwhtr
You did the right thing Very good thing you did. Yotes wounded might not be something you want around. DB
Bowtech_archer07
You definitely did the right thing. A wounded coyote can turn on a human if they are able to and possibly cause some serious damage. It's not common, and a healthy yote will run away 99.999% of the time when they encounter a human, but a wounded one... that's a different story. 6sixpoint_nobrows
It was a good thing what you did. especially that you ended your hunt to go take care of a wounded animal. thats shows a lot about you, stuff like that can get me too. there will always be another day to hunt right. good luck out there
