Ohiobucks
No NHL season for 2004-05 This just floors me! What a bunch of over-paid crybabies. Talking about both sides of this arguement, not just the owners or players. All of 'em are money grubbing loosers in my opinion. Unfortunetly, the fans are the only ones who pay...... Shaun_300
Re: NHL - It\'s Official i'm with ya ohiobucks, it really ticks me off too that they make so much money for playing a sport... then they go and moan and complain that they aren't getting enough?!?! i figured that it wouldnt run this late in the season, what a bunch of crybabies! hopefully they will settle this childish argument about money, and get back at it in the 2005-2006 season. waterfowler_gal
Re: NHL - It\'s Official Alrighty I am volunteering to play in the NHL for only $500,000 a year... I will do it for the love of the game...lol
Shaun_300
Re: NHL - It\'s Official thats what they should be doing! there's no need for them to get millions of dollars a year to skate around the hockey rink. i know they are very skilled players, but when you look at how many people are working for pennies a day in the middle east, and they sure work a lot harder than hockey players
Tominator
Re: NHL - It\'s Official Well, I'm an NHL fan, and to be honest, I guess my emotion is one of pity rather than anger. I guess the market is speaking, we just have to trust what the owners and players are saying. All pro athletes are overpaid IMHO.
buckbuster11
Re: NHL - It\'s Official I actually thought they were going to get a deal done after the progress they made in the last couple of days.....guess not. At least they will have plenty of time to get it right so they can clean up the league.

Dang how will you ever survive on that; you will be living in poverty. lol
MUDRUNNER
Re: NHL - It\'s Official It is a bummer.Maybee now the NHL can get itself straightened out and get the game back to the excitement it had in the 80's.Back when it was a more physical game and they had half the whistles. waterfowler_gal
Re: NHL - It\'s Official In the words of Latrall Sprewell (spelling?) from the Minnesota Timberwolves "I got kids to feed".......... He only makes $14.6 million a year and wants more... how pathetic...
Ironranger
Re: NHL - It\'s Official I grew up on skates in Northern MN and have played hockey every year since. We do it for the love of playing the game and I'd give my left ______ to be able to step on the ice with them. I've lost respect for pretty much all professional sports with the exception of Nascar. Too many things in this world today are about money. i'd rather play the game over watching those bums any day...

We really should pity them. If they ever get this settled, they are going to have a much harder time getting the fans back. Just look at what it took for baseball fans to come back. I guess you can say that the "diehard" fans will come back, but where the NHL was/is lacking is the casual fan. There is just not enough excitement for most in a 1-1 game or a 1-0 game. That being said, when they get this resolved I will come back and watch. GO WILD!!!

MichiganHuntr1
Re: NHL - It\'s Official Heres something you all should see at what its costing Detroit, Next Years Super Bowl Host! Which the effects could make next years super bowl trash Al Fields, Detroit's deputy chief operating officer, said the city loses about $225,000 per game just in parking, concessions, ticket surcharges and People Mover rides. And that is a conservative estimate! The City of Detroit itself stands to lose at least $10 million, from a canceled season and already is nipping and tucking in response to lost games at Joe Louis Arena, and the Detroit City Council spent much of the day Friday trying to squeeze millions out of a budget that already has a bulging deficit. Ive Read It could cost Detroit $25 Million Bucks! Hockeytown is dying quick!
superguide
Re: NHL - It\'s Official This is a black day for Canada is all I can say. Send all the whiny half effort Europeans home and let North Americans play and we'd get our fans back for sure. Bring me the head of Gary Bettman. [/ QUOTE ] I dont know about that....I've heard more then a few North American players...Chelios and Roenick for examples make fools of themselves by trashing the salary cap idea and saying we need to back to the good old days when "the big 6" ruled the NHL. If they had their way....the NHL would be in the tank for good real fast.
