Turkeygirl
So this may explain why the deer movement where we hunt here at home has been weird. Andy goes out last night to hang his climber and hunt another stand. I stayed home, my camo was drying. Well he gets back after dark, said he didn't even hunt. He went in to his one ladder stand and found a Buck Bomb under it...someone else was hunting in his stand!:hammer1: Some kid came out from another part of the woods, with a climber though, he lives down the road from us, he's probably got permission to hunt, maybe, anyway he said there was this other kid with him. Andy said that kid never came out and actually that kid is not suppose to be hunting over on this land at all! The other kid, ok, well he was in the Army and back home now, went home...so Andy thinks the other kid saw him coming and probably snuck out. The kid's father actually almost shot me during deer season couple years back...I was up on this bank...and a deer runs down between us and the guy shot at the deer..I was behind it! So I don't like the idea that some kid not suppose to be up there is sneaking around and he is probably the shoot at anything that moves! I'm kind of PO'd...if I catch someone in one of the stands when I go in to hunt, well they don't want to meet a PO'd RN. And Andy doesn't want to tell the land owner and causes tension...mom and I are like get a spine and go tell the land owner! I'm thinking about hiding my trail camera somewhere...but I don't want it stolen! And Andy heard the other guys who hunt the other side of the property come out last night...we have a stand up there which is best on west or south winds...so if I go out tonight, I will go up into my stand, regardless of who's there...I have just as much right. Anyway kind of a bubble breaker....Just needed to vent...usually we see almost no one...Probably because they know there's an 8 running around... doubledrop
yeah i go through this every year with the people on the neighboring property. they own 85 acres and think they own 500 acres. we actually have lifetime fence around our 150 acres and we have caught them in our stands. they have been in trouble numerous times with the warden but it doesnt seem to matter to them. they live by the rule if it's brown it's down. so they pretty much ruin it for everyone. fly
Yup, know the feeling. Hunting land that isn't yours can be frustrating every season! Someday we'll have our 100 acre woods!
stevebeilgard
i found poachers on our land each and every year. they just don't care. i've also known outfitters who would gladly pay the trespassing fine ($272.00) if they got caught rather than pay the kill fee ($500.00) if they didn't. some folks are just crumbs. SpcNape
Sorry to hear about the mess. That's got to be very irritating.
ruttinbuc
I share property with a gang of people. I do my best to stay out of peoples way. There are a few that don't care if they step on you. One time I even had glow tacks going to my stand. Never caught the guy. Maybe it is best that I didn't... HoosierDaddy28
Yeah, my uncle killed a 180 class buck a couple of years ago and it basically ruined hunting for me. We have a lot of people who sit on the line now. Last year I caught a guy who put up a ground blind on the wrong side of the fence.
