My little brother went hunting with my God Father yesterday outside of Augusta MT and they saw 12 wolves. They werent all in one pack either. They were strung out over a couple miles all down the same big draw. Of course neither one of them had wolf tags. My dad and I both had wolf tags but they didnt invite us to go. i think they went back this morning so hopefully they come back with a big old dog.

I am going to a meeting tonight where Carolyn Sime is going to talk about wolfs. She is the Montana statewide wolf coordinator for FWP and a long-time friend and colleague. Will be interesting to hear what she has to say about our wolf population and interaction with big game species. I see Montana's hunters have now killed 58 wolves this hunting season - getting to the 75 animal quota in a hurry! I'm glad the courts upheld the season and gave Montana sportsman a chance to hunt these critters. Wolf pelts are beautiful - I would love to get one someday.

to bad maines bioligists couldn't learn something from another state!! The coyotes have taken over our deer herd here in maine!!They suspect 11000 fewer deer this yr and are blaming the winter !!What about in the old days when my gram used to tell me about snow banks as high as the telephone wires!!I just wish they'd do something!!
