bloodtrails
My hunting area I haven't seen any doe's! not a one. But my stand is set up around about10 tree rubs and a couple of scrapes. I go through and freshen them up and when I go back there is clearly activity. I have seen a couple nice bucks kickin' around. Do you think they will hit these spots during the rut? if I use the right lures? or do you think they will move on? Is it worth staying put? pointing_dogs_rule
Excellent question. These scrapes are probably being used during the night time hours. I would stay away from the scrapes if they are already being worked up by the bucks. I don't believe that it worth putting your scent near those scrapes. Pre-rut is kicking in so the bucks will be moving and likely will show up at those scrapes during daylight hours. Hopefully your luck will change. With that stated: I go by the old saying (during the rut): "HUNT WHERE THE DOES ARE". They will attract the bucks. What I am hoping is that you are in a "funnel point" between 2 bedding areas and the bucks will be traveling between these bedding areas, to find does, and under your stand. Try not to bump any does this time of the year. good luck to all the dog
