fenderhunt4
OK, so we've had about 4 frosts now and nothing seems to be eating away at our brassica plot? Any suggestions as to why? I have plenty of trail cam pics of them in there eating the clover and chicory though.
backwoods07
In some areas the deer just won't touch it. It usually takes 2-3 years for the deer to start eating them. Once they do, they mow em down. The first year we planted brassicas, the deer literally walked around the plot to get to where they were going. WHISKEYSWAMP
I moved a trail cam over my brassica plot a couple weeks ago... hope to check it this weekend.
dogdoc
give them time. It is true that sometimes the deer have to learn to eat them but once they do they will eat them every year after.
joeaveragehunter
As of two weekends ago, the deer were hammering the hay fields. I am hoping this weekend they exhausted the green fields and have moved on to the brassica.
