Ilbowman
A friend that is the luckiest hunter you know? Well I have 2. One of them we all are lucky to have and thats Randy O. He works extremely hard to kill deer at his home property where the pressure from all of the neighbors is extreemely high and and any deer that is p&y is a good deer regardless of score. So his is not so much as luck as it is hard work. The other one, on the other hand, Is the luckiest guy I know!!!!! My buddy mike and I have been hunting together for about 7 yrs. The first year we hunted together I just gained a new property to hunt near my inlaws farm house. I only had one stand on the property so when he went with me I gave him a climber to use and told him which tree to get in because the deer would cross the creek there and come out into the field. Well he cant find the tree so he just sits on the ground in some brush. at daylight a 6pt, doe come out of the standing corn, and then a shooter 14pt. He shoots him at 40 yds. I am on the other side of the field in my lock on and I see him on the top of the bean field stomping his feet!! I figured I was not going to see anything so I got down to see what was going on and we went back to where he shot the deer. Well his frustration was premature because about 15 yds from where he shot the deer was alot of blood. we tracked it to the creek that my stand was on about 50yds away before the creek lies his 200lb 14pt knarly buck shot from the ground because he couldnt find the tree!!! So fast forward a few years. He gains some new property to hunt and he sets up a stand in a small amount off woods and wouldnt you know on opening day he kills a 130 inch 10 pt. So fast forward to this year. He loses that property because some of the other hunters complained to the land owner that he was killing too many good bucks!!(thats a funny one). So he talks to one of his sons friends mom and she tells him that have 5 acres of timber that borders some fields and other timber. So he sets up a stand. What is really funny about this is that the people that own the land, 4 wheel, paintball and camp right in this timber during the summer. It even has an outhouse that they use when camping!! So yesterday morning Im in my stand in a great spot. Trees tore up from the floor up and scrapes on the trail in front of me. before daylight I have a buck walk in make a few rubs and scrapes 20 yds all around me. walks past my stand and circles it goes and lays down near his rubs and waits till daylight(didnt get a great look at his rack but knew he had a big body. At daylight he walks 22.5 yds to my left right by a creek. I see his rack and knew it was a shooter!!! He needed to take 2 more steps into my shooting lane and he was dead, but instead turns around and follows the creek out!!! About five minutes later I get a text from my buddy that says bbd!! with a pic(the first one you will see) And he says he killed it on the 5 acres!! The buck I have officially named "The outhouse buck" lolGo figure!!! I seen some more little bucks chasing and about 10 does and fawns. I have officially name him the "GOLDEN HORSESHOE UP HIS BUTT" HUNTER!! LOL Sorry to get winded but man he has to be the luckiest hunter ever!! Does anybody else have friends like this? layin on the smackdown
A got a friend up here who has a dream spot to hunt in Lee County...its 160 acres surrounded by 2000 acres of a deer and pheasant club which is heavily managed...He took off of work this year from Oct 25th-Nov 25th and as of last night he is officially tagged out with over 300 inches of antler on the ground with archery tackle in less than 1 week. on the 25th of Oct. he drilled a giant 9 pointer that green scored 161, and last night, Nov 4th he drilled the biggest buck of his life with archery tackle, which green scored 172 and some change. You want to talk about lucky....sheeeesh....i wish i had his place to hunt.
The_Kat
My best friends dad regularly takes a 160 inch or better deer EVERY year that I can remember since I was 7 or 8. He doesn't scout or anything. He just gets people to let him hunt and goes out there and kills big deer. It's nuts.
