layin on the smackdown
spend as much time as you can in the stand....durring the rut, things can happen at all hours, but usually from before first light till 10 am... then 3 pm till after dark I am going to disagree with this to an extent...I have no idea how things move in the northwest, but in the midwest, if your not out in the stand between 10 and 2, you are missing prime hours...these are what i call the cruising hours. Alan, like alot of people have said, any time you can go, go. During the rut, i hunt all day, things are happening at all hours, and it happens fast. Before and after the rut, i normally hunt mornings and evenings, sometimes long afternoons.
BearClaw
Early season here mostly between 7-10 and then 5-dark. But I've had lots of pics on my trail cam all day long. No deer in my living room so anytime is good. Just depends on time, other committments in the early season and patience. Once rifle season rolls along, all day!
