Trigger work?

I am planning on having trigger work done to my Ruger Hawkeye with the LC6 trigger or installing a new trigger. What trigger do ya'll recommend. Obviously Jewel triggers are amazing but i dont know if one is made for the rugers and i dont want to spend over $200 for just a trigger. Anyone have Rifle Basix or Timney triggers?

get a timney, its adjustable, if you take down the factory trigger, your stuck with it, unless you buy another

Depends on the trigger. Some factory triggers are adjustable and some require stoning the sear faces and replacing springs.

I would suggest you see how much adjustment the current trigger can take without modification first. Then if permanent sear work has to be done to get it where you want it, bite the bullet and buy the Timney. Stoning sears to improve a trigger is a permanent change and like Wyo says if you get that done and don't like it, you are in fact stuck with it!

I recommend the Timney. Pretty easy to install, You might be able to do it yourself if you felt comfortable. I have two rifles right now with Timney triggers, both are set at a very crisp 2 1/2 lbs with absolutely no creep. A timney trigger compared to the factory's is like night and day. Every rifle I have owned I put a timney in. Trust me, you can't go wrong with buying one.

I have the same model gun and I really like the Timney trigger. I don't know why they don't install a better trigger from the factory. The rest of the gun is just fine.
